The Tree In My Head is a collection of short installation films about the relationship between humans and trees.  The films are a mix of genres - from quirky essays about culture and the environment to simple documentary moments in nature - and films where trees "speak" directly to the viewer.

Viewers will gather in a city park with Wi-Fi access, and will watch the films on both mobile devices and directly on trees, through the use of high powered video projection.  The Tree in My Head will be a truly unique cinematic experience - a film about nature seen in nature.

Living beside the rainforest in Vancouver has given me a deep appreciation of the complex relationship we humans have with trees. As a species, we have lived in trees, used them for food and shelter, worshiped them, and converted them into works of art and music.  And now, we utilize them in a dangerous commodity relationship - at a time when we literally need them to breathe.

The Tree In My Head is a daring and innovative exploration of the human-tree relationship. It is my hope that each viewer will be challenged to reflect upon this relationship, and perhaps to see it as a metaphor for our relationship as a species with the earth.
